All parameters in the shortcode can be made dynamic by replacing the id with a field shortcode or [id] for the current entry.

As an example of how to change the shortcode to be dynamic. In this example, the shortcode could provide any number of merged PDF forms based on any data in a form.

    EXAMPLE 1:
Imagine a Formidable form that includes a dropdown list [103] of documents (field map layouts) for a user to download…
    DYNAMIC SHORTCODE:
    [formidable-download form=”1234″ dataset=[id] layout=[103]]

    EXAMPLE 2:
Imagine a form with two dynamic fields. [102] is a list of entries, [103] is a list of documents (field map layouts) that you created…
    DYNAMIC SHORTCODE:
    [formidable-download form=”1234″ dataset=[102] layout=[103]]

Let us know if that helps, or if you need further assistance please provide more detailed information about your requirement.

Thank you for using the plugin.

Please clarify your request. Do you have additional fields for the “Spouse” address data? If so, are you using javascript when the user selects; ” Yes- copies the address from what the applicant put in for his/her…”? If so, then NO, this will not be an issue as you’ll map the spouse address fields and whatever data is in the fields will merge to the pdf. Let us know if the spouse address fields need further advice.

You can also overlap PDF fields, as long as you manage the data correctly, we use this method all the time with Formidable’s show/hide conditional logic.

Unfortunately, text formatting is not supported by PDFtk, therefore, not supported by the plugin. Any formatting of the PDF would need to be done using the PDF form field settings, and/or with PDF javascript.

Regarding; “the downloaded pdf shows the inputted information for the previous submissions.” Sounds like the dataset shortcode parameter is set to a static value rather than [id]. Verify that the dataset parameter is; dataset=[id]

Let us know if [id] works for you while we remain at your service.

There is a shortcode parameter to name the file, but that does not change which PDF file is being used for the merge. (Login to view all parameters here.)

Reading through the workflow, the plugin may be capable of the desired result, except we are not clear about the “8 documents in the exact same format with up to 6 color variations“. Can you elaborate, or better, are you able to skype in English about this request? If so, please complete this form with your skypeID, but without the plugin and login info, and also include the best time to reach you.

Thank you for using and liking the plugin!

If your PDFs are the same, except for the data, then you can likely use conditional logic to show/hide fields and data values. However, we would need more information to provide a suggested path. Can you provide the user workflow and the desired result?

There is not a built-in way to add a watermark, however, you can conditionally fill a hidden form field that adds/removes the “watermark” text.

Repeatable fields do not currently work with signature, image or field upload fields. If you are not mapping one of the incompatible fields we would need to see the form and field map layout to further troubleshoot the issue as the current version of the function has been tested and found to be working as intended.

If possible, please export the field map layout and attach it to this form, we do not need to login at this time.

    To provide assistance we will need more information ;
. Are you able to merge the data to the PDF from the Field Map Layout admin page?
. Is the attachment a .txt file or a .pdf file?

We apologize for this unprecedented delay! We are still trying to fix this ridiculous bug, unfortunately we have not been able to as of yet. The problem is with PDFtk and would require a rewrite of a large part of the plugin. We have not given up our efforts to fix or find a work-around, in fact, we have hired a new developer who began working on the issue yesterday, and we hope to have at least a work-around for you this week.

in reply to: How to edit Font size and checkbox #8087

    Keymaster

Thank you for using the plugin!

Edit PDF fonts using Adobe Acrobat, PDFEscape.com, or any other Adobe Form editor. (Except LiveCycle)

For checkboxes, you must copy each “Export Value” from your web form to a PDF checkbox “Export Value”, then map the web form’s checkbox field to “each” PDF checkbox field.

**DO NOT USE SPECIAL CHARACTERS IN FIELD NAMES OR VALUES**
(NOTE: Each pdf checkbox field must have a unique name and export value must match the web form values)

More instructions are available here, or if you need more help, we are willing to login and setup a checkbox field on your installation as a guide. Please complete this form if our login service is needed.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention, it appears the functionality was lost after a recent update. We are working to fix the issue and will reply as soon as an update is available.

We apologize for the delay, in the meantime, a work-around would be to create and map one checkbox field for each PDF field, however we expect to resolve this issue quickly.

Sounds like everything was done correctly, so at this point we would need to take a look at your installation or if that’s not possible then can you provide the PDF form, a link to your web form, and a screenshot for the entire field map layout for further evaluation?

    Please complete this form.

The number of forms refers to how many formidable forms published on your website can merge to an unlimited number of PDF forms.

For example if users of your site fill out no more than 10 web forms which require PDF outputs then the one site 10 forms would be the version you need.

You are not limited to how many field maps or PDF form outputs each form can do with any version.

Attachments are not created based on the shortcode, the shortcode simply creates a link to the PDF.

For email attachments, you’ll need to create a email notification for each layout and send them based on your conditional logic. Once created, email notifications can be selected/deselected from each of the Field Map Layouts.

We apologize for the delayed reply!

Yes, this topic was discussed on this thread… Below are the instructions that were provided on the thread, however, there are other ways to accomplish the desired result, let us know if you would like more assistance…

You’ll need to make the shortcode’s LayoutID dynamic here’s an example where the values of Formidable radio button field [125] are equal to a corresponding LayoutID using the field’s “Use separate values” option…

    [formidable-download form="contact2" dataset=[id] layout=[125]]

Where the above field [125] is a YES/NO radio button using the “Use separate values” and the YES value is x and the NO value is y; x is the ID of PDF A and y is the ID of PDF B

Or you can make it even more dynamic using a Formidable Conditional Statement like this…
Where the field [125]=YES then layout=xx OR if field [200]=YES then layout=yy
    [formidable-download form="contact2" dataset="2128" layout=[if 125 equals="YES"]"xx"[/if 125][if 200 equals="YES"]"yy"[/if 200]]

We sincerely apologize for the frustration our plugin is causing you! Our primary goal is to be at your service. To that end, our support team is willing to help you build the functionality by providing specific examples of a merge.

While the PRO2PDF plugin is the only plugin supported on this site, we are obviously well versed in Formidable Forms so we are willing help you locate the online doc, and/or offer our suggestions regarding that plugin too.

NOTE: Using the online version of the PRO2PDF plugin with MAMP will not work correctly if PDFtk is not also installed locally. (A full refund is available!) Online, the plugin uses our server for the required PDFtk functionality. Additionally, the “intranet version” of the plugin is also required to unlock the paid version features for offline use.

With the PRO2PDF plugin you/we have the ability to create “Templates” which include the Formidable Form, Field Map Layout, and the PDF Form. If you would like us to help you get started by creating a template based on your PDF form, please upload your PDF Form here. (Login info not required.)

We agree with you about needing more help online, so we will upload a recently made instruction video, and link it to this message thread. The unedited video was made to show subcontractors how to create a merge from beginning to end.

NOTE: It’s a painfully long, and not very formal video… but it will show you exactly how to make a PDF Form, Formidable Form, and a Field Map Layout with checkboxes and radio buttons included.

in reply to: Copy/paste field name + data as plain text #7867
    admin
    Keymaster

“clipboard-copy / save their own data as plain text” is possible with the Views function in Formidable Forms. This plugin strictly merges Formidable Form fields to PDF form fields.

However, “reusing that text is to copy all the text to clipboard and paste into new (unfilled) form with one click. Is this possible?“, no we don’t think so… anywhere, with any web form tool – but sounds like a useful idea – let us know if you find something.

We remain at your service, regarding dynamic pdf forms from WordPress forms, using Formidable Forms.
