PRO2PDF DOES NOT create complex PDF documents or recongnize Formidable’s conditional (if) statements, the plugin simply fills pre-existing PDF fields based on user-defined field map layouts.

However, we simulate complex PDFs by using hidden Formidable fields, stacked PDF fields, redirected forms, and/or multiple field map layouts.

Your server admin must install mbstring library or recompile PHP without the “–without-iconv” option (which is the normal install mode). We can do it as well if your provide root credentials to the server using this form.

We use the following methods “to preload an existing template/field map”;
1. Enable automated layout creation for new field maps – checkbox found on the Settings tab.
2. With an existing Field Map Layout open, click the “Duplicate this field map” button at the bottom of the layout. Then, select the new layout from the “Field Map to use” dropdown and change the “Select PDF file to work with” to the new PDF form.

Q. “I’ve setup the form the for the A and B; however, the blank fields overwrite the content. How do you handle this?”

A. We use the following methods to populate conditional data;
1. Add overlapping PDF fields for both A and B options then map them to the Formidable form field. So if data for A is entered, A’s PDF field(s) populate with A’s data, and the same for B, without ‘overwriting the content’.
2. Add hidden text calculation fields for each PDF merge field, then map then hidden field(s) to the PDF fields.

When using the Repeatable (separate fields) you do not need to map fields beyond the first set. So if you have pdf fields named Fname1 Fname2 Fname3… you only need to map Fname1 and the rest will just fill in based on the field names with numbers.

Is it possible for you to sent the PDF form to support AT formidablepro2pdf DOT com? We’d like to double-check the Cyrillic issue as well as the repeatable fields.

There is a known issue with Slovak characters such as (ľšžýáíéäšďčňô), however, we have not heard of any issues with Cyrillic characters. Although the issue may be with Cyrillic characters as well, you can try changing the font to see if they fixes the issue. If a font change does not work, the plugin may not be currently compatible with Cyrillic.

Regarding the repeatable fields, we would need to see a screen shot of the Field Map Layout to determine the issue, or complete this form and will take a look at the issue.

This plugin merges Formidable Form data into PDF Forms by allowing admin users to create field map layouts.

To use the plugin, you’ll need a Formidable Form and a PDF Form, then you’ll create a field map layout that maps Formidable fields to the PDF fields. Once the field map layout is created, data may be merged to the PDF Form using a shortcode.

The plugin installs a demo Formidable Form, PDF Form and Field Map Layout which may be used/tested immediately after data is entered into the Formidable Form. Here’s a video of the website demo.

The plugin is a ‘service’ that would need to be renewed each year, or, you can install PDFtk on your server to use the plugin without premium support. FYI: Local installation of PDFtk does not allow for images or signatures to be merged to PDFs.
