PRO2PDF does not have a function to control which emails are sent, only which emails have attachments.

Check to make sure you do not have any abandoned, test, or failing Field Map Layouts that are set to send PDF attachments.

Let us know if there are any differences in the duplicated emails, i.e. attachment, TO, CC, FROM, body text, or subject.

    The signature does resize based on the size of the PDF text field, we would need to see the issue you are experiencing to determine the cause of the issue. Complete this form to provide access, or provide screenshots of the Formidable form in design view with;
. the signature field details visible
. the signature field mapping on the Field Map Layout
. the PDF in Form Design mode to see the signature text box borders
. and the final merged PDF showing the cut-off portion

Formidable’s Address Field may be mapped to PDF fields using the “ADDRESS” option found in the “FORMAT” dropdown list on the Field Map Layout, then use one, some, or all of the field name shortcodes that are provided to you when you choose the “Address” format option…

    FOR U.S. and OTHER ADDRESS
    [line1]
    [line2]
    [city] [state] [zip]

    FOR INTERNATIONAL
    [line1]
    [line2]
    [city] [state] [zip]
    [country]

E2Pdf is still in beta, we will release instructions to migrate from PRO2PDF very soon.

Formidable’s ‘OTHER’ option is not compatible with mapping to a PDF Radio Button – you can map the Formidable Radio button to a PDF Text Box, or, to use OTHER, you must add OTHER as a regular option and then add an OTHER text box to the Formidable Form and use conditional logic to show/hide the text box.

#1: You can use the shortcode or the “Name of Field Map (will be used as default filename)” field located on the EXPORT tab’s Field Map Layout section. See image below…

Default PDF Password Field on the Field Map Layout

    #2: Here’s a correction to your shortcode syntax…
    [formidable-download form=”policy-mandate” dataset=[id] layout=”1004″ filename=”Test [112]”]

#3: Create three Formidable Email Notifications and use the Conditional Logic on each Email Notification to select when to send the email. Also, create three of the same Field Map Layouts (use the duplicate button at the bottom of the field map layout to copy the original field map), but check/uncheck the Email Notifications to send per your criteria.

Use the “PDF password (leave empty if password shouldn’t be set):” field located on the Field Map Layout section of the plugin’s EXPORT tab.

Q: Will I lose all my previous mappings and need to start over?
    A: No.

Q: what is the proper procedure to do this so I can preserve and reuse the prior mappings.
A: Simply upload the PDF with the same filename. The field map layout will not change, however, the new (or updated) PDF fields will become available in the PDF Form Field Name dropdown field.
NOTE: The same is true if you make changes to the Formidable Form fields. If a “already mapped” Formidable or PDF field is deleted, the field’s mapping will revert to the first field in the dropdown list.

Q: would it make sense to switch to using the new plugin E2PDF… What would you recommend?
A: Yes, E2Pdf is the most AWESOME PDF tool for WP!!! However, field map layouts you create in PRO2PDF can be converted to E2Pdf templates.

Q: And if we switch to E2pdf, how do we switch
A: We are creating instructions, and a video, which should be released by the end of this coming weekend.

Q: is there a big learning curve?
A: Yes, E2Pdf is totally different than PRO2PDF, however – the replacement plugin easier to use and much, much, more intuitive. (Did I mention how AWESOME it is?)

What your are missing, is the same setting everyone else misses… the PDF checkbox “EXPORT VALUE“…

Copy/paste the Formidable checkbox value(s) to the corresponding PDF checkbox field’s name and export value. Add a field map layout for each PDF checkbox field to the one Formidable checkbox field.

Here’s another example that may help. If you are still not able to make it work we can provide instructions specific to your forms if you upload your PDF and provide a link to your webform here on this form.

You can use PRO2PDF or E2Pdf, there is no reason to use both.

If using PRO2PDF, it’s best if you name the PDF fields EXACTLY the same as the Formidable Field name or field key. Then, check the “Enable automated layout creation for new field maps” option on the SETTINGS tab so the fields will map automatically when you create a new Field Map Layout. Be sure to watch the demo video.

    1. Yes, the plugin was specifically designed to “output multiple PDF documents from a single form”.

    2. Yes, shortcodes may be generated using Formidable’s conditional statement shortcode(s) and email attachments may be controlled with Email Notification Conditional Logic.

Is the plugin installed on a an intranet server or the internet server?

If intranet, you’ll need to enable the “Enable local PDFTK” option on the plugin’s SETTINGS tab.

If internet, was the plugin ever working on the server, if so, what has changed since the plugin worked?

    – where can i find the PDF in the the file structure? i want to be able to FTP into the server and download them.
. PDFs may emailed as attachments, and are created on-demand – when a user clicks the link the PDF is downloaded to the users browser, desktop, or mobile – merged PDFs are NOT stored on the server – only the original PDF form with empty form fields is stored on the server. We can provide an add-on plugin to store PDFs on the server, click here to request.

    – i created a test form found here (http://agrilight.staging.wpengine.com/brad-test/) and at the bottom is the short code to one of the PDF’s that has been obtained from the addon, and you can see that its linking to a wp-admin/wp-ajax.php url with paramters. – how can i create shortcode that works like this?

. Shortcodes are created on the plugin’s EXPORT tab. Select the Form and Field Map Layout – then copy the shortcode below the dropdowns… You’ll need to change the dataset=”xxx” to dataset=[id] to generate a shortcode for the current entry if used in an email or in the form’s On Submit Message Box.

Take a look at the demo video and let us know if you have any other questions.

    – does an actual PDF file get created?
. Yes – and the free version also creates an actual PDF.

“when we view the PDF is loaded the ajax-admin.php file, with a bunch of parameters.”
. We do not understand this statement/question/concern… are you able to elaborate?

    – from what i’ve read, the “Attach file to email notification” is only available on the paid version, but does that send a file or the same ajax-admin.php url in the email for the client to download.
. PDF attachments are a functionality of the paid version, however, the free version is capable of sending a link to the PDF in the body of the email using the shortcode.

    – is there a way that we can send the PDF as the content of the notification email to the user, and not as an attachment?
. We do not understand this question, “send the PDF as the content of the notification email”, emails are not capable of embedding a PDF file, however, you are able to sent the Formidable Form data as the content of the email.. are you able to elaborate further on this question?

If you are experiencing an issue where clicking NEXT on a Formidable Form is not advancing to the next form page, then the issue is likely due to a “required field”, “conditional logic”, or “data format”. In this case, the support request should be directed to the great support crew at formdiableforms.com/support.

We have experienced the same issues and found the input mask on the phone number field was causing the issue when users input something other than the required format.

If you still believe the issue is with the PRO2PDF plugin, please provide further details as to what our plugin is doing after clicking submit (or NEXT) after “Stage 1”.
