Admin users would need Adobe Acrobat (or compatible app or service) to “create PDF forms” which will be used by the plugin. Web users do not need Adobe Acrobat, other than an Adobe PDF reader to view PDF files.
To be clear, our plugin merges data from Formidable Forms to PDF “Forms”, which means you’ll first need to create a PDF Form with Acrobat form fields and upload it to the plugin, then our plugin will fill the PDF form and allow users to receive a PDF with their data by download and/or by email.

Looking at the provided information, we are not able to confirm the issue is being caused by the PRO2PDF plugin, it appears the issue is with Formidable Forms or another plugin causing a conflict with Formidable Forms or PRO2PDF. Have you tried contacting the great support team at Formidable Forms?
In our experience working with Formidable support, they will likely need to reproduce the issue in order to find the cause. They will suggest disabling all plugins other than Formidable Forms to find out if there is a conflict. If all works, add the plugins back one-by-one until the conflict is found. They will also want to know if any custom PHP is being executed.

With the field map open on the Export tab scroll to the bottom of the field map and click “Duplicate this Field Map”. You can then open the newly created field map (copy) and rename, change the PDF, or any other changes.

1. Check if there is more than one field map layout for the same form that is not configured to flatten.
2. Try exporting the pdf from the Export tab, is it flattened? If so, check the shortcode for a mis-configured flatten parameter.

If the requirement is to create only one web form with three fields which merges data to one PDF form with three fields and provide the user a link to download the merged PDF after completing a WooCommerce transaction, the cost would be $45 for 1.5 hours of development time. It appears the fields showing the ‘strange characters’ have the PRO2PDF format dropdown set to a “Repeatable” or “Image” option. We would likely need to see the field map layout and the resulting PDF to determine exactly what is causing the issue.

Yes, simply create the PDF with the image and a PDF form field over the image, or without the image with a large PDF text field to hold the image and a normal size PDF text field over the larger text field, then map the field(S) to the web form with our plugin.

We have considered your question and attempted several methods, to no resolve. We do not believe this request is possible based on how Repeatable Sections are stored and how the plugin interacts with Formidable Forms. We have asked our senior developer to examine the code to see if there is anyway to add the functionality as requested and we will let you know as soon as he sends us an answer.
