Two issues were found;
Regarding “Fiche client_V2.5 PP psw.pdf”, the PDF document has no PDF form fields. Add PDF form fields using Adobe Acrobat, PDF Escape or any other Adobe PDF form field creator, except LiveCycle.
Regarding both files, do not use periods (.) in the file name as this causes unexpected results. The user ID question is one for the Formidable Forms plugin (https://formidablepro.com/help-desk/), but it sounds like the UserID is working correctly, you’ll need to use the UserID shorcode like this if you want to show the username instead of the ID: [125 show=”user_login”]. 1. The PDF may be created on demand by passing the user’s entry ID as a URL parameter to the “registration complete page” where you’ll put a Formidable View shortcode exactly where you want he download link to go. See this how to use the shortcode in a page or post…
2. Use the plugin’s shortcode parameter download=”auto” to automatically start the download. Optional parameters are available here to view in browser window, flatten the file, change the filename and much more.

We are happy to help. Yes, the message you are receiving means you are using the free version and will only be able to merge data from one Formidable Form to a PDF form, but any number of times.
Regarding the link, sounds like you may not be using the shortcode correctly in or in the correct location(s). To use the dataset=[id] parameter in a shortcode on a Page or Post, you’ll need to create a view with just the shortcode in it for the [id] parameter to work, then you can pass the [id] in a URL parameter to the view and the view will provide the correct [id] to the shortcode, and the correct link will show up on the Page or Post.

Do you have pdftk installed on your server?
. If not, uncheck the “Enable local PDFTK” checkbox located under the plugin’s “Settings” tab.
. If yes, then change the “Flatten PDF form” to YES. The plugin is not compatible with the other YES option (Yes, and transform text into images).Let us know if the checkbox options above correct the issue.

Please elaborate on…“but every time I create a new one I have to go through the same process of once i manually typed the field names in manually, saving the field map and reloading it.
#2: You may accomplish this functionality by using the shortcode in the body of the email with the filename parameter, rather than ‘attaching’ the pdf to the email. The shortcode may be dynamically changed for each entry, offering far more control over the final PDF, than does the automatic attachment function’s global settings.
Global PDF filename may be set using the “PDF file name in e-mails:” option in the field map layout, however, this function is not dynamic for each entry.
All formatting of font style, size and position must be set in the PDF form prior to uploading to the plugin. The plugin cannot adjust any font or field position settings. Many users have created a ready for printing business card “shell” as you’ve described.
Use the ‘flatten’ parameter to prevent altering of the default values.

Attachment filenames cannot be renamed dynamically for each submission, however, you may place the shortcode with the filename parameter in the body of the email to dynamically rename the PDF through a download link.

Using the Repeatable “separate fields” option allows the data to be merged to in separate fields, rather than consecutively in one field by naming the PDF text fields the same but adding 1,2,3,4… at the end of each field. This way you can place each repeatable data field exactly where you need it on the PDF.
