adminKeymasterNOTE: Make sure your PDF filename does not include any extra “.” periods or any special characters.
adminKeymasterAfter you upload a PDF, it’s uploaded… then, the field map layout needs to be created…
Here’s a quick how-to…
FIRST, go to the SETTINGS tab and select the option to “Enable automated layout creation for new field maps”, then click the SAVE CHANGES button.SECOND, submit data at least once to the Formidable Form you are going to merge. The form must have one entry for the plugin to work!
THEN, from the plugin’s EXPORT tab…
. Upload a fillable Adobe PDF Form
. Select the Formidable Form from the “Select the form to export data from:” dropdown list.
. Type a name for your merge in the “Name of Field Map (will be used as default filename):” textbox.
. Select your PDF form from the “Select PDF file to work with:” dropdown list.
. Select your Formidable Form from the “Select Form to work with:” dropdown list.
. Click the “CREATE FIELD MAP” buttonAfter the screen refreshes…
. Select the Formidable Form from the “Select the form to export data from:” dropdown list.
. Select the newly created Field Map Layout from the “Field Map to use:” dropdown list.
. Scroll down to finish creating your layout.Let us know the results. We remain at your service.
adminKeymasterShortcodes may be used anywhere in WordPress to provide a link to view/download any merged PDF. Shortcodes are NOT required to attach merged PDFs to Formidable’s email actions.
To display a download link to a user after submitting a form paste the shortcode in the form’s On Submit Message Box, as seen here on the demo video.
To use the shortcode on a Page, Post, or Custom Post Type you’ll need to paste the shortcode into a Formidable View, then paste the view’s shortcode into the Page, Post, or Custom Post Type.
For the “Current Record ID”, don’t forget to change dataset=123 to dataset=[id]

adminKeymasterYou provided a flat PDF document, absent any PDF form elements. A quick google search will help you with converting your document into a fillable form using Acrobat DC…
Let us know if you need us to create the form for you. We remain at your service.
adminKeymaster“The version I am trying to save doesn’t have a Use as dataset name selected. Any other ideas?”
You MUST select a field to “Use as dataset name”!

adminKeymasterThere is a radio button on the Field Map Layout named “Use as Dataset Name”(it’s the first field), you must select which field you want to use as the “recognizable name” field for your dataset. See this part of the demo video.

adminKeymasterYour formidablepro 2.0.3 activation key will not work for PRO2PDF, we are a separate plugin which requires a separate purchase from Formidable Forms. Please use this link to purchase PRO2PDF.

adminKeymasterFYI: PRO2PDF is not compatible with Adobe “LiveCycle” forms…
adminKeymasterThank you for sending the PDF document. Our initial assesment was correct, your PDF is not an Adobe PDF Form. You must use Adobe Acrobat or other app such as PDFEscape.com to convert the PDF document into a PDF Form.
Alternatively, we offer a Fiver gig which will convert the document for you, and will name the fields so that the merge will be automated. Click here if you would like a custom offer to create the PDF Form.

adminKeymasterThe [empty] field in the “Select data to export” dropdown is expected as you have not yet saved the Field Map Layout with a “name” for the dataset.
Regarding “not displaying the PDF entries (like in the demp video) so that I can map my PDF to”…
Sounds like your PDF is not a standard Adobe PDF Form. If possible, send the PDF as an attachment to support AT formidablepro2pdf DOT com.We remain at your service.
adminKeymasterNot exactly, this plugin will take the data that is entered into a Formidable Form and merge the data into your fillable PDF, then it allows the PDF to be emailed as an attachment or downloaded at anytime on demand.
We are not aware of a WordPress plugin that will extract PDF data from a fillable PDF and insert the data into a WordPress database.
If you need users to complete an online form and retain a filled in PDF file, our plugin and Formidable Forms will do it.
