Hi Admin, thank you for looking into the issue with the empty PDF. Everything seems to be working fine again.

Hi Admin, I had tried removing the suspect field map yesterday, but then the datasets for the correct field map all went “empty” and it forced me to restore the database to correct the issue. Fortunately I had backed up the database right before I removed the field map.

I did not try to remove the other field maps as well in case I need to export older form entries for our client.

    Please advise.

Following up on the latest issue, it seems the attached PDF may be using the wrong map. There is a map someone created named Hound and Purr Release Form 23 which has no fields. Map Preview says the PDF can’t be opened because it is empty. Could it be that that the attached PDF is using this map instead of the correct Field Map titled Hound and Purr Release Form 2023 Map? The download link does work correctly, as the correct field map is specified in the shortcode.

Hi Admin, I did as you suggested to change the dataset names and it worked perfectly.

However, now a problem has come up with the PDF that is attached to the message. They won’t open in Acrobat or Mac Preview. Acrobat returns this error message:

Adobe Acrobat could not open ‘Hound and Purr Release Form 2023.pdf’ because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged (for example, it was sent as an email attachment and wasn’t correctly decoded).

Could you look into what is causing this issue? Before changing the dataset name the attached PDF was opening without issues.

Greetings, Support Team. It looks like the PDF is finally being attached and the download link is also working correctly.

I have one other ask. It appears the datasets are being named after the content of the last field (the date of the signature at the bottom of the form). Before they used to be titled after the entry in the first field, the last name of the client filling out the form.

Is there a way to have the datasets named after the content of the “LastName” field? That is much more useful when looking at the datasets in the export tabs.

Thank you very much for your diligence with this matter.

Hi Support Team, in response to this request sent by email:

“Sending any email from houndandpurr.com is not working. We can return WP to its default email service; however, that will require the reentry of the gmail credentials to start using the SMTP plugin again.

Please test PRO2PDF attachments with WP’s default email client to determine if the issue is with PRO2PDF or the SMTP plugin.

    We remain at your service.”

    This is our feedback:

While the SMTP works using the default PHPMail function, we would rather use the SMTP relay using the Google Workspace email contact@houndandpurr.com.

The problem was the the client changed the email account’s password without our knowledge, so Easy WP SMTP could not authenticate.

I have secured the latest password, entered it into the plugin settings and tested it.

It is now working again. Apologies for any inconvenience this may have caused as you try to debug the issue with the missing PDF attachments.

Note: We tried to reply by email and received this error message:

Hi Jens, thanks for the update. Is the bug being looked at? I just applied an update to the Formidable Forms plugin and I wonder if that will make a difference.

On a separate topic, the download link does show on the form message, but it is generating a blank PDF. This is the shortcode currently on the form:

    [formidable-download form="houndpurrreleaseform423" dataset="id" layout="1011"]

Shouldn’t id have brackets around it?

Hi Admin, I could not figure out how to make the shortcode dynamic so that it uses the dataset from the form being sent. Please advise.

Hi Admin, another issue cropped up. I added the download link to the form message as per your suggestion, but the link is downloading the wrong PDF. Instead of my test form from 5/2 it is downloading David D’Amico’s form from May 1.
