I am sending PDFs in emails. Occasionally in testing we have found the the PDF fields to be empty – except the signature field. A resend (or generating the PDF from the entry) fills in the fields. Once the email did not send and when tester downloaded PDF file it was empty. I have a question in to Formidable Forms as well, but thought you may also have some insight into the problem. It’s difficult because it is not easily reproducible.
We have not received any support requests with the issue you have described. At first thought, there may be a timeout issue;
. Can you check the file size of the PDF form and let us know?
. Also, are there any images (other than the signature) being merged to the PDF?
. How many fields are merging in the Field Map Layout?
With those numbers, we are at a loss as to why this might be happening. Let us know if you are able to provide a method of reproducing the issue, as other users are not experiencing the issue. We too have sites using the plugin heavily, and have not once experienced the described issue.
Things to look for;
. Out of date plugins
. Is issue happening at a certain time of the day
. Any other server errors (even if they seem non-related)
. Is there any custom code running when the form’s submit is clicked
