What happens in the event a customer purchases a subscription level that includes multiple sites and/or multiple forms for the first year, but then decides not to renew? How if at all is the functionality of the product affected?

Is your product licensed under GPL?

Does your product’s functionality depend on availability of a remote service or is it atomic to the customer’s site?

Is user-submitted data sent to a remote service or entity?

If so, will you indemnify your customers in the event that process is compromised?

Do you offer price protection for your subscribers based on initial purchase, or can the subscription renewal price be arbitrarily increased over time?

What are the differences between FormidablePro2Pdf and ePdf? Does ePdf provide more flexibility?

    Thank you.

Great questions, thank you for asking.

What happens in the event a customer purchases a subscription level that includes multiple sites and/or multiple forms for the first year, but then decides not to renew? How if at all is the functionality of the product affected?
    – The plugin reverts to the free version 1-Site | 1-Form.
Field map layouts are saved – not deleted – and can be made active (one at a time) on the site. All will be active if the key is renewed or a new key is purchased.

Is your product licensed under GPL?
    – Yes

Does your product’s functionality depend on availability of a remote service or is it atomic to the customer’s site?
    – Both options exist. Our server is used if the client server does not have PDFtk installed and active. Our server is also required to merge signatures and images.

Is user-submitted data sent to a remote service or entity?
    – Same answer as above.

If so, will you indemnify your customers in the event that process is compromised?
    – The user agreement includes a strict hold-harmless waiver.

Do you offer price protection for your subscribers based on initial purchase, or can the subscription renewal price be arbitrarily increased over time?
    – There is no specific wording for ‘price protection’, however, the prices have remained the same since release, and we do not expect to change the pricing. There are offers of up to a 30% discount on multi-year renewals.

What are the differences between FormidablePro2Pdf and ePdf? Does ePdf provide more flexibility?
    – E2Pdf is far superior not only to PRO2PDF, but to every other WP PDF plugin. E2Pdf includes a PDF document creator, PDF form creator/editor, a visual mapper, conditionals, integrates with multiple form and data capturing plugins and Adobe ESignature, and is feature rich. Additionally, E2Pdf is the only web form auto-generator ever created, just upload a PDF form to the plugin to auto-generate web forms for Formidable Forms, Gravity Forms, Formiator, and Caldera (more to come). The E2Pdf website includes a tool for migrating PRO2PDF templates to E2Pdf.

    – PRO2PDF includes optional multi-site licenses, and may be used as a stand-alone plugin when PDFtk is installed on the server, and may be used on intranets. PDFtk is NOT actively updated, so if PDFtk fails to be compatible with WordPress, we will have no option but to abandon the plugin for E2Pdf.

Thank you for the prompt, detailed reply.

    For clarification:

The ‘hold harmless’ waiver you cite obligates your customers to hold you harmless, correct?

Regarding external dependency, based upon your reply this is my understanding:
Assuming PDFtk is installed, active and functional, and further assuming there are no signatures or images being merged, FormidablePro2PDF will always operate atomically, never send customer-provided data to an external resource, and continue to operate the same way independent of any remote entity.

By comparison, e2PDK will always send customer data to an external resource, and will cease to function entirely should that resource become unavailable.

The feature ‘upload a PDF form to the plugin to auto-generate web forms’ seems to indicate that the we could take a static document in PDF format such as a Federal Tax Form, convert it to a PDF Form by adding form fields and logic using Acrobat, upload it, and e2PDF would produce a form for use with Gravity Forms or Formidable Forms with matching fields and business logic. e2PDF could then merge customer submissions into the aforementioned PDF Form for customers to download. Please tell me if that’s accurate.

Do any of these features/extensions require an additional purchase?

    Thank you again.

    Kind regards

    – Correct

Regarding external dependency, based upon your reply this is my understanding:
    – Correct, however to add… the Intranet Version ($69 one-time payment) is required to release all the plugin’s value-added features.

By comparison, e2PDK will always send customer data to an external resource…
    – Correct

The feature ‘upload a PDF form to the plugin to auto-generate web forms’ seems to indicate … with matching fields and business logic…
    – Matching Fields = YES, Business Logic = NO, PDF is also automatically mapped to the auto-generated web form… (of course…;-)
We tested this feature on PDF forms with over 700 fields, the web form was created in about 5 seconds, give or take a blink of the eye. NOTE: CSS formatting, Radio and Check field labeling and some setup will still be required… but, yeah… it does it.

Do any of these features/extensions require an additional purchase?
    – No, 100% of all features and functionality is included. In fact, it’s free with all features included on WordPress.org for one-template with a one-page PDF form. Only multi-page form functionality is missing, which includes conditional logic and spanning a single field of varying data across pages, which had been a stumbling-block in WP PDFing – until E2pdf.
