Hello, I have formidable forms and formidablepro2pdf, and I want to get help to setup my site. I saw the fiverr gig is paused. Are you available to hire?

I am not sure how to use it. I need to add more fillable fields to my pdf, so do I need Acrobat for that as another step? Then I also need to buy Acrobat?

No, you do not need to purchase Acrobat, you can use any PDF Form program or app that is Acrobat compatible like pdfescape.com or our new plugin, E2Pdf.com which is due to be release today or tomorrow.

We have paused our fiverr gig, however, we are taking paid support request here on our site.

I am confused. I already have FormidablePro2PDF, and my fillable PDF is ready (I used Acrobat). OK so now would I still need E2Pdf? It looks cool, but I think I have the features I need so it’s not clear to me why use E2Pdf. Also, I see on the site this link and I don’t understand, please explain: “Migrate License from Formidable PRO2PDF”

You can use PRO2PDF or E2Pdf, there is no reason to use both.

If using PRO2PDF, it’s best if you name the PDF fields EXACTLY the same as the Formidable Field name or field key. Then, check the “Enable automated layout creation for new field maps” option on the SETTINGS tab so the fields will map automatically when you create a new Field Map Layout. Be sure to watch the demo video.

Let us know if you need any further assistance.

I’m confused about how to do mappings from Formidable Checkboxes Field, to a PDF. I reviewed the demo video, but it does not explain properly. I’m also looking at the example that comes with the plugin, “DEMO: Mapping Formidable Fields to PDF” and that is not clear either. There is a crucial bit of information missing. See this picture:
    https://screencast.com/t/WBjPvYcq

It doesn’t make any sense how to make this work. For this demo case, it is mapping from ONE Formidable checkbox field (it has 3 checkbox options), to THREE separate PDF checkboxes. But nowhere do I see where to specify: If user selects checkbox option1 on Formidable then map this to PDF Checkbox1. If user selects checkbox option2 on Formidable then map this to PDF Checkbox2, etc etc.

Instead what I’m seeing is this:
If user selects any checkbox on Formidable Field, map it to Checkbox1 on PDF.
If user selects any checkbox on Formidable Field, map it to Checkbox2 on PDF.
If user selects any checkbox on Formidable Field, map it to Checkbox3 on PDF.

Do you understand what I’m saying? It does’t make any sense how FormidablePro2PDF is able to tell WHICH checkbox the user selected.

Instead I would expect to see a mapping like this:
If user selects Option1 checkbox on Formidable Field, map it to Checkbox1 on PDF.
If user selects Option2 checkbox on Formidable Field, map it to Checkbox2 on PDF.
If user selects Option3 checkbox on Formidable Field, map it to Checkbox3 on PDF.

Otherwise, how does it know which checkbox selection the user has made (option1, option2, or option3) and therefore which corresponding PDF checkbox to fill?

    I’m confused. Please explain.

What your are missing, is the same setting everyone else misses… the PDF checkbox “EXPORT VALUE“…

Copy/paste the Formidable checkbox value(s) to the corresponding PDF checkbox field’s name and export value. Add a field map layout for each PDF checkbox field to the one Formidable checkbox field.

Here’s another example that may help. If you are still not able to make it work we can provide instructions specific to your forms if you upload your PDF and provide a link to your webform here on this form.

OK, thanks for clarifying my previous questions, I think I get it now. One more question before I “dive into it”. That is:

Let’s say I go through all this and upload my pdf and create the mappings. Then I realize I missed something and I need to change the PDF and maybe add a few more fields. So now I need to upload a new PDF (with some extra fields to map.) Will I lose all my previous mappings and need to start over? Or, what is the proper procedure to do this so I can preserve and reuse the prior mappings.

Actually one more question, since we are not too far into our project, would it make sense to switch to using the new plugin E2PDF, especially with the built-in PDF editor. It seems this is a handy tool especially during our development phase where we may be adding and modifying multiple PDFs. What would you recommend? And if we switch to E2pdf, how do we switch, and is there a big learning curve?

    thanks

Q: Will I lose all my previous mappings and need to start over?
    A: No.

Q: what is the proper procedure to do this so I can preserve and reuse the prior mappings.
A: Simply upload the PDF with the same filename. The field map layout will not change, however, the new (or updated) PDF fields will become available in the PDF Form Field Name dropdown field.
NOTE: The same is true if you make changes to the Formidable Form fields. If a “already mapped” Formidable or PDF field is deleted, the field’s mapping will revert to the first field in the dropdown list.

Q: would it make sense to switch to using the new plugin E2PDF… What would you recommend?
A: Yes, E2Pdf is the most AWESOME PDF tool for WP!!! However, field map layouts you create in PRO2PDF can be converted to E2Pdf templates.

Q: And if we switch to E2pdf, how do we switch
A: We are creating instructions, and a video, which should be released by the end of this coming weekend.

Q: is there a big learning curve?
A: Yes, E2Pdf is totally different than PRO2PDF, however – the replacement plugin easier to use and much, much, more intuitive. (Did I mention how AWESOME it is?)

Can you explain how to do field mapping for a webform Radio Button that has an Other option? Specifically, there’s a radio button selection for “Other” and a Text field where user can type in. On the PDF form, I have a corresponding text field. I need to map the webform Radio button Other TEXT Field to the PDF text field.
    thanks

Formidable’s ‘OTHER’ option is not compatible with mapping to a PDF Radio Button – you can map the Formidable Radio button to a PDF Text Box, or, to use OTHER, you must add OTHER as a regular option and then add an OTHER text box to the Formidable Form and use conditional logic to show/hide the text box.

I am using Formidable “Address” field, but can I map this using FormidablePro2PDF?

Do I need to stop using the Formidable Address field and instead create individual fields for each street, city, etc?

How about your new plugin E2PDF, does it support the Address field?

I’m interested in migrating to E2PDF, this is for a production site. Is it ready? I have pro2pdf license.

Formidable’s Address Field may be mapped to PDF fields using the “ADDRESS” option found in the “FORMAT” dropdown list on the Field Map Layout, then use one, some, or all of the field name shortcodes that are provided to you when you choose the “Address” format option…

    FOR U.S. and OTHER ADDRESS
    [line1]
    [line2]
    [city] [state] [zip]

    FOR INTERNATIONAL
    [line1]
    [line2]
    [city] [state] [zip]
    [country]

E2Pdf is still in beta, we will release instructions to migrate from PRO2PDF very soon.
