I have several checkboxes questions on my Formidable webform, and I have several corresponding checkboxes on my PDF. For ex,
“Do you like dogs? Yes / No”
“Do you like cats? Yes / No”

In both cases, the options are Yes or No. But, when mapping to PDF, you suggested in another post to use the PDF field Options Export Value, and set the PDF field name and PDF field options export value to be EXACTLY the same as the web form. Well, if I do that, then I will have duplicates, two PDF checkboxes will be named “Yes” and two PDF checkboxes will be named “No”.

So it seems instead I need to name the PDF fields different, like:
PDF Field1 Name and export value =”Yes Dogs”
PDF Field2 Name and export value =”No Dogs”
PDF Field3 Name and export value =”Yes Cats”
PDF Field4 Name and export value “No Cats”

Then I should have to go back into my Formidable webform, and select “Use Separate Values”, then set the Saved Value as follows:

    Do you like dogs?
Option 1 Saved Value = “Yes Dogs”
Option 2 Saved Value = “No Dogs”

    Do you like cats:
Option 1 Saved Value = “Yes Cats”
Option 2 Saved Value = “No Cats”

So is this how it is supposed to work, utilize “Use Separate Values” and set a unique Saved Value on webform for each option, and match it up with each PDF checkbox which will have the corresponding “Saved Value” for its Name and Options Export Value. Please confirm if this is correct.

(Otherwise, if we just go by using the option’s value, like “Yes” or “No” then there will be lots of duplicate “Yes” and “No” checkbox fields on the PDF and that may not work.

Checkbox fields are not setup the same as Radio Button fields, YES/NO fields should be setup as radio button fields, which means you need to name both the YES and the NO field the same, like this…

“Do you like dogs? Yes / No” – Name both the Yes and No PDF fields “Do you like dogs?“, then the Export (Option) Value for the Yes field should be ‘Yes‘ and the No field should be ‘No‘.

Separate values are not needed. Use this form to send us screenshots of the Formidable form in design view and upload the PDF if you would like specific instructions for your forms.

OK I understand how to map radio buttons. Can you also explain how to map checkboxes. For example, say I have two questions with the same set of choices like this:

    Webform questions (multi-select checkboxes):
Which foods do you eat at home? pizza, burger, hotdog
Which foods do you eat at restaurant? pizza, burger, hotdog

On PDF I have the same questions with checkbox fields for the answers. So how do I name the PDF fields and export values?

    thanks

Also, I need help to understand how to map from Formidable Drop Down to PDF checkbox.
Specifically how to name the PDF fields, is it done the same way as Radio Buttons? Or if not, please explain how to map from Formidable Drop Down to PDF checkbox.

    Q: Webform questions (multi-select checkboxes):
Which foods do you eat at home? pizza, burger, hotdog
Which foods do you eat at restaurant? pizza, burger, hotdog

A: Name the PDF fields something like, pizza1, burger1, hotdog1 for the first checkbox group of fields, then pizza2, burger2, hotdog2 for the second group of fields – just name them so you can find and map them in the field map layout…

Q: On PDF I have the same questions with checkbox fields for the answers. So how do I name the PDF fields and export values?
A: The export values for both groups should be; pizza, burger, hotdog

Q: I need help to understand how to map from Formidable Drop Down to PDF checkbox.
Specifically how to name the PDF fields, is it done the same way as Radio Buttons? Or if not, please explain how to map from Formidable Drop Down to PDF checkbox.

A: Regular dropdown fields would map the same as Radio Buttons.
A: Multi-Select dropdown fields would map the same as Checkbox fields.
